SB 976 -- BOARD OF HEALTH

SPONSOR:  Steelman (Portwood)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Professional Registration and Licensing by a vote of 14 to 0.

This bill requires that one of the members of the State Board of
Health be a licensed chiropractic physician.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that chiropractors are the second
largest group of health care providers in the state, but they
have no say in state health policy.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Steelman; and Missouri
Chiropractic Association.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
